Dr. Kapil Kalra, Principal of Alpine College, a leading pharmacy college in Dehradun, has secured both international and national patents for his groundbreaking innovation: a Painless Instrument for Infants.

The invention, a Neonatal Bilirubinometer, aims to transform neonatal care by providing a non-invasive, painless method to detect jaundice in newborns.

This cutting-edge device eliminates the need for traditional blood sampling by utilizing advanced technology to measure serum bilirubin levels with precision. Designed for portability, it features a lithium-ion battery for extended operation, along with a numerical data input module and a barcode scanner to enhance usability for healthcare professionals.

The patents, granted by the UK Intellectual Property Office and national authorities, highlight the global significance of this innovative research. Registered under Class 10-04 as a Neonatal Bilirubinometer, the invention is the result of collaborative efforts by:
